About Amazing Me Yoga Kids Classes
Amazing Me Yoga classes are yoga classes designed for children to encourage an early interest in personal health and wellbeing. We don't just work on exercising the body but also exercising the mind and strengthening the breath. We love to play through games and have fun while we explore and learn about different yoga poses. Fun is a big focus of our classes as it makes for one of the best environments to learn in. Combined with the yoga it really helps the children to release stress and tension from their body. We sometimes underestimate how much stress children can take on. We often have very high energy moments before we start winding down for some relaxation at the end. This helps meet the children where they are. Children are so often full of energy so Amazing Me Yoga really helps them to learn how to calm themselves down, listen to their own bodies and to bring focus on the breath.

What can I expect my child to get from one of your classes?
In every class I include at least one breathing practice, a sequence of yoga poses, a fun game and a calming activity. Classes will give your child the tools to have a strong yoga practice as well as some tips on meditations, pranayama and other mindfulness activities. We also love to include arts and crafts, learning about nature and the environment, story time, music and more.
The main focus is that children grow up with a positive experience of looking after their mental health and physical wellbeing while developing skills that are really going to benefit them on a day to day basis. Our classes are focused on having fun but we recognize that no emotion is bad and all emotions are welcome. The classes are very much led by what the children need that day. If they need a fun, energetic class, they got it. If they need a calm, more slow moving class focusing on self care, they got it. If the group is meeting somewhere in the middle, we will meet them where they are at. Lesson plans are very well thought out but they allow for the children's creativity and needs to shape the class which is why every class is so unique. |
What is the importance of fun?
Fun is an element in the lives of adults and children alike, which is often neglected and dismissed as unimportant. But incorporating fun into our lives has many benefits:
• It makes you happy and healthy by producing endorphins!
• As opposed to fear, 'fun' is a much safer environment to learn in.
• It helps us to release built up stress and tension.
• It creates space to explore and release unprocessed emotions.
• It creates an atmosphere where we can freely interact and communicate.
• Because fun always involves interaction with other people, we learn to play and live under certain rules of mutual respect, which is the only way to keep the fun going!
So let's have some fun!
